As always…

As always… our volunteers ROCK!!! We could not do what we do every week without our volunteers. We all work together like a well oiled machine.

We served a wonderful meal today of ham, turkey, mashed taters, green beans, baked beans, chicken n noodles, dressing and lots of desserts. Our friends were eatin good today. Next week is Little Bethel Church and I understand they are bringing a Thanksgiving meal also. Man oh man I love Thanksgiving!!!

Dale asked if he could do a devotional today about Psalms 23:1 – 2. He spoke about how God supplies all of our needs (I shall not want), God wants us to relax in Him (He makes me lie down in green pastures), God wants us to be quiet and listen for His small, still voice (He leads me beside still waters). Dale did an awesome job sharing his interpretation of the first 2 verses.

Richard Smith brought his video camera to video folks of why they are thankful. (Thanks Richard). I got to share that I’m thankful for Jesus dragging me out of the boughs of hell. There were volunteers that said what they were thankful for and some of our luncheon guests that shared their thankfulness also. I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone had to share today on the video.

April brought her nephew, Chuck Chuck (2 years old) and niece, Ashley (5 years old) today. Ashley gave me a picture of a turkey and printed her name Chuck Chuck and April’s name on it to wish me a Happy Thanksgiving. Very sweet. They are such sweet kids. Chuck Chuck has icing all over his face, I pray that Richard got a picture of it today, very cute kids.

Our Anderson guys asked us to stay after the luncheon to help them make homemade Cracker Jacks popcorn. Oh my gosh talk about some ooey gooey stuff. It’s made out of corn syrup, brown sugar and butter… no calories there, right??? They needed help making it and putting in individual bags so the (Anderson group) could take them to the prison in Anderson for the inmates. These guys are faithful every week with to go bags for our friends downtown. They were making 5 – 7 sandwiches EVERY WEEK (that’s 500 – 700 every week they would make) for our to go bags. They bring 100 bags every week to pass out. Doris and I asked Bill to only make 2 – 3 for each bag. 5 – 7 was way too much work for all these guys. If any of you have made peanut butter sandwiches, you know what I’m talking about. Very time consuming. Thanks Anderson guys, we were honored to help you for a change today… plus the popcorn was yummy. Yes, I had to try it to make sure we weren’t poisoning people :o)

Philippians 1:3-6 (The Message), A Love That Will Grow

Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God. Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer. I find myself praying for you with a glad heart. I am so pleased that you have continued on in this with us, believing and proclaiming God’s Message, from the day you heard it right up to the present. There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.

Happy Thanksgiving to your families and you and know that I DO thank God for you. Love all of you, Kathy.
