Hope for the Homeless by Sadie Smith

Sadie Smith is a Girl Scout from troop 50435, whose project was approved in late June 2020 and will be formally recognized as part of the 2021 Gold Award Girl Scouts ceremony. She is on a mission for our homeless friends in Indianapolis through Meet Me Under The Bridge, Inc. Thank you, Sadie!

This is from the Girl Scout website:

Gold Award Girl Scouts are the dreamers and the doers who take “make the world a better place” to the next level. The Girl Scout Gold Award is the mark of the truly remarkable—proof that not only can she make a difference, but that she already has.
Seniors and Ambassadors who earn the Gold Award tackle issues that are dear to them and drive lasting change in their communities and beyond. Think of the Gold Award as a key that can open doors to scholarships, preferred admission tracks for college, and amazing career opportunities.

Why I chose Meet Me Under the Bridge: I chose a “project” that relates to the homeless because in today’s world we tend to take for granted what we have and overlook the fact that people close in proximity to us have little to nothing. When we think of homeless or poor we think of across the seas, across the world, in foreign countries. However, that is not the case. People everywhere can face homelessness. I wanted to be able to show people that and give them a chance to help others who need a little bit of Hope. (My “project’s” name is Hope for the Homeless.)
