What an amazing group of volunteers we have!!!!!!! We are so blessed with folks that have so much compassion and love of the Lord it just pours out of them.
Jeff Howell gave the word today in: Heb 9:27 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, John 3:16 – 21 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe
stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have
done has been done in the sight of God. He spoke about the judgment and that we all have a choice.
Brother Bill blessed everyone and asked the Lord to bless the food. He also told me that the to-go bags didn’t have canned drinks in them, I told him as long as there was love in them… that’s all that mattered. He then
proceeded to tell me that Judy (his wonderful assistant) went out and spent money on her food stamp card to purchase drinks for the to-go bags. I know, I know it just warms your heart, right? Thanks Anderson guys and gal for making a difference in our lives and also the homeless. You minister to us and probably don’t even know you do. Praise God for our Anderson group!!!!!!!!!
Scotty showed up today, I was very happy to see him, haven’t seen him in a while. He looked good! I asked him if he needed anything and he said no, he was ok.
David showed up also. He’s the one that had a pickup truck full of blessings (things for the recycle place). He had that wonderful smile on his face :o) He’s smiling even though his truck’s motor died. I pray one of these days we will be able to help folks like him that are trying to work and better themselves. He has such a sweet spirit about him.
Please pray for Jeffrey, I don’t want to go into details but please pray for him.
In loving memory of Mike Kuniej. Mike you are already missed. We love you and pray you are in the arms of Jesus! Mike’s life just proved, even if you’ve got a roof over your head in an apartment, everything is not perfect.
It’s hard on our friends when they do get a place, they miss their family of friends on the street. They feel isolated. This is where I believe we are missing the boat on helping folks. They need mentoring, fellowship,
someone to walk beside them, to visit them and to care about them. Please keep his family in prayer.
We have been so blessed by churches and groups that come and bring food and lots of love to help. This allows us more time to minister to and pray for our friends. I know there are folks that want to help the ministry and
can’t make it down to get involved. If you believe in our mission of helping the homeless, there are many ways to help us in this vision. Here are a few examples:
* Donating clothing
* Donating financially to our P.O. Box or Pay Pal (this helps us to assist the homeless the most, by allowing us to purchase exactly what is needed.
* Praying protection for the volunteers
* Praying protection for our homeless
* Sorting clothes
* Hanging up clothes
* Cleaning the tables after lunch
* Sweeping the floors after lunch
* Praying at the Diner to invite the Holy Spirit
* Ministering at the Diner
* Washing the dishes used during lunch
* Getting things organized and refilled for the next luncheon
* Assisting our volunteers while at the Diner
God Bless all of you and tell your family that you love and appreciate them. Don’t wait another day!!
Kathy.
